I have both legal/physical custody. How can I get joint visitation because the mother lives 2.1 miles? We both reside in Minn

First, assuming you are 'dad' (or gay 2nd mom, etc.), your time with your child (children?) is your parenting time - - you are not 'visiting' your child/kids. As to your post, the issue or issues are not clearly described and name. I urge you to pay a well experienced attorney to provide you with formal legal advice at this time: She will want to review the existing court order. Best to you !!!

I am afraid that here is no real way to answer your question based on the limited information provided, You must consult with a lawyer. Courts make custody decisions based on the facts of each individual case. They do not look solely at how far away the parents are from one another. A careful review of parental history is required.

We do offer free consultations. Call 612-240-8005.
