Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

livning will

I printed out the Health Care Directive form and we are going to fill it out but does it need to be filed with someone or do we keep it in a safe until needed if necassary?

Also if i passed away and don't have a will and am single who would it be up to to make my furneral aggragments and what if I have a domestic partnership, does that partnership give my partner the rights for any or all arangments?

Regarding your health care directive, it does not need to be filed but you need to be very careful when signing it. You must strictly comply with the law for that.

Also, don't keep the health care directive in a safe unless someone knows how to get it if anything were to happen to you. If you are incapacitated and no one knows about your health care directive or no one knows how to open your safe, it wont be much help.
