Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

How Long Do I Wait to Start the Divorce?

I currently live in Wisconsin and have for about a month now. I lived in Minnesota the majority of my life(27yrs). I lived down in Florida for 2 mos and just got back to the midwest and have lived here in WI for 1mo. My question is...If I decide to move back to Minnesota, Do I still have to wait 6mos before I can start a divorce? Even if I have lived there my whole life and also got married there?

Please let me know...

Thank You

Yes. You must have continuous residence in the state for 180 days before you can file a petition for a dissolution of marriage in the State of Minnesota.
