Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

am i married

I married my husband 13 years ago after 2 years we found out that his 1st wife never signed the divorce papers. So he went through the process again and filed for divorce and it was granted. I am now being told that my marriage is not legal. What am I to him and what are my children to him.

Under Minnesota Statutes 517.03 a marriage that occurs when a prior marriage has not been terminated is void. As a result, the second marriage is not recognized as valid. It does not change the parent's relationship with the children.
