Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
I have been married for 6 months, I signed a pre-nup which states that if I leave the relationship, I will get nothing. My husband uses this against me and kicks me out of the house when we have a fight, he owns the house. I have decided to live elsewhere because I can't take the risk of getting kicked out again. What are my legal rights if any re: my situation? I have a part-time job and cannot afford to move but I can't be abused like this all of the time.

Who drafted this pre-nup? Were you both represented by counsel? Was there full disclosure of assets on both sides? Someone should take a look at this document and give you an opinion as to its enforceability.

As like Mr. Hansen, I would have many questions as to the enforceability of the pre-nup (it seems a little shady). Even if, however unlikely, the agreement was enforceable you could probably argue that you did not leave the relationship because he kicked you out.
