Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
Minor signed a Recognition of Parentage in error
My minor son signed an ROP at the time his girlfriend gave birth, thinking he was the father. It has since become obvious that it's very possibly not his child. It's too late to file a revocation and the mother has filed for child support. We have requested a paternity test and the county said he must take legal action before he is 18 yrs & 6 mos. What does this mean? What legal action, and how does he go about doing so? (He has since turned 18)

There are things he can do. How long has it been since he signed the ROP? You said he is 18. When did he trun 18? Has he already been ordered to pay child support or is she just asking for it now?
