Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
I had an order for protection (OFP) against the father of my daughter. After almost 2 years, we got back together and are now married. I thought he had truly changed his violent behavior and stopped using drugs. I was wrong and am now living with my parents for the past 4 months. I am expecting my 2nd child in march. He has stopped coming to visit our daughter, it has been 3 months since he has seen or called her. She is just now returning to a "normal" behavior pattern. Do I have to let him visit her? Do I have to invite him to the hospital when our son is born?

If you are married, and he is adjudicated as the father, until there is a court order, you are both equally considered parents. Each has as much right to parent as the other. The only thing that changes that result is a court order. You may file an OFP, a divorce action or legal separation to seek that order.
