Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I have an order of protection against me. My wife and I have only been married since October, we have no children together, she is not pregnant, she is not working...She is in the home that I owned prior to the marriage along with all but a few bare essentials that she packed and allowed my parents to pick up. She has very little in the way of property that she brought into the marriage and I am willing to compromise and let her have more than she came with. I, however, am not allowed on the property by the O.O.P. and I have been to my local police department and sheriff's department to seek help in recovering my belongings so I can get an apartment and move on but she says let the courts sort it out. I can't afford a divorce attorney on top of the criminal attorney I have retained to fight her bogus allegations...what shoud I so, where should I go? I understand she has divorce papers to serve me with but since I am staying in a hotel and have no way of contacting her; I have not been served with them. I just want what I brought into the marriage and she can have what she brought plus the items I'm flexible on. Help!

I am afraid that your options are few. You may file a Motion in the OFP matter to modify the terms to recover property or you may file for divorce and, as part of a temporary hearings, seek an order requiring modification of the OFP to allow you access to your property.
