Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I previously asked a question: if a local county judge can require someone to file a "joint" Federal Income Tax return in a divorce decree. The response I received linked to the IRS publication on "how to file". I asked a simple question "yes" or "no", as it seems that a local judge cannot require someone to do something on a federal level. I gave it a "thumbs down" on the response and got a follow up that your service does not take the place of contacting a "real attorney" . This is not about a specific case or incident, can he/she or can't she/he. Free question, free response, worth just that, zero.

A Judge has the power to hold parties in contempt of a court order. The Court may use that power to compel compliance or, in the alternative, issue other orders penalizing the compliant party such as requiring an exchange of money related to tax liabilities incurred.
