Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I'm in the process of asking the court for visitation to my granddaughter.I have answered all the questions from the opposing attorney and sent all info they wanted.My granddaughter is in the custody of her other grandmother for now I have been in her life since the day she was born and I never had any problems with having her for periods at a time when I wanted to or even going to see her for weeks at a time.I live in MN and she lives in ND I am going by ND law with the help of a paralegal.My question is do I send all the documents and evidence to the Judge? I also wrote a letter to the judge giving him an idea of the relationship I have with my granddaughter.I would appreciate any imput you could give me and if there is anymore I could do?The judge wants us to go to mediation before court but I don't think she will budge.

You must ask your question of a North Dakota attorney and not a Minnesota attorney since the case is being heard in North Dakota. You are also unclear what type of proceeding is occurring. based on the post, it could be a child protection proceeding or a family court third party custody proceeding. The process may vary greatly depending on the nature of the proceeding.
