Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

are punishments given for purgery in court claiming other parent unfit?

I asked my abusive husband for divorce, next day he called the police to our home falsely accusing me of making, selling, and abusing drugs w/o any evidence supporting his claim. He took our child 100 mi.north telling me i'd ''never see her again.'' I was granted an OFP and was court ordered to take random weekly UA's(all neg.)to prove his allegations false. For 2 yrs he has threatened to plant drugs on me/car if I ever left him & take our child from me.4 months & numerous court dates later my name is cleared, got back full custody, and in process of divorce.

Do I have any rights to file charges against him for all the pain he caused me & my family with his horrible lies? How can purgery be addressed and dealt with in the court of law?

Making a false report of a crime is itself a crime. To press charges, talk with the police department where the report was made.

Perjury is also a crime. Perjury is the act of knowingly making a false statement of fact under oath--such as while testifying as a witness in court, or in a sworn affidavit. An allegation in a complaint, or a statement of belief or suspicion, on the other hand, is not a crime unless it was made under oath and you can prove that the person really did not believe or suspect what he said he did.
