Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

I am representing myself as you all are too expensive!!! I tried to negotiate a move out of state with my ex. for ten weeks. My husbands transmission went out on his commute home and we had to make the drastic decision to move without the consent inorder for my husband to keep his job. I then filed my Motion to move. I did not get a Response to Motion, but instead received a new Motion of Contempt by a legal aide lawyer. It arrived seven days before out court date, three days short of the ten days required to enable me to respond. My question(s) are these....!. Since my paper work had all arrived on time for them, do they in court get to respond to my motion or do I interpret the new Motion as their response.....2. Since I didn't receive their Motion within the required time frame can I object to it....or will the Judge allow me to Respond? I really wish someone out there could help. I really wish someone out there would just kick my ex's arrogant, bullying a**. Thanks for listening.

I am afraid that it is always a mistake to relocate with a child without first having an agreement of the other parent or an Order of the Court. Often, doing so can result in a change of custody and a finding of contempt.

Although the Motion may not hjave been timely, and you should object in that regard, in most cases, for purposes of judicial economy and to prevent having a new separate hearing, the court will hear that motion.. You may ask for additional time to respond in writing.
