Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
hi my name is Robert Kay and i have a question about my son. him and his mom were in a car accident. she did not survive but my son did. she lived in Missouri and i live in Minnesota. Up until the car accident, Her and i had verbal agreement between the two of us that my son would spend the summers with me up in MN. We made this agreement because we didn't want to go through all the court stuff. Now that she has passed, i want my son to come live with me. What are my rights as the biological father with my name on his Birth certificate, and signed Recognition of Parentage at birth. (we were never married). He is 10 years old. My son's Grandmother and uncle on his mothers side of the family, are telling me have to rights to him. Could you please help me out on this. Thank you for your time. I Look forward to hearing from you.

Since your son lives in Missouri and if he has lived there for the last six months of his life, you should contact a Missour family law attorney.
You must file an action in Missouri to confirm paternity and determine custody,.
