Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

following the rules

In the custody agreement it states:''if either parent cannot provide care for the child they must contact the other parent before setting up for someone else to care for child''

My question is what do I do if my ex is doing this, what should i do about this is a contempt of court the answer or is there something else i should do?

I presume there is an order that includes that language. If so, the answer is that yes he is in contempt of the agreement and order. Practically, the only way to get someone to follow the order if they do not want to is to use the contempt procedure. That will cost you legal fees. You may wish to "paper" the matter by sending him or her a letter detailing the failures and advising that if it happens again, you will seek contempt and a change in parenting time. Then if they do not comply, you can use your letter in your affidavit. Keep copies! Dennis
