Generally, people need to be married for several years to really qualify for spousal maintenance. It is possible to get maintenance if certain facts are present. Bills accrued during the marriage are marital and will be dealt with in the dissolution.

I really would need more info about your situation to give a bwtter answer. However, I can tell you that 2 years is notenough time to warrant spousal maintenance. A marriage usually must be of a much longer term before that is an issue - there are actually two types of spousal maintenance - rehabilitative amd permanent. Rehabilitative is awarded for a few years to enable a spouse who can reenter the marketplace a leg up in getting some training. Permanent maintenance is awarded when a spouse for whatever reason can't fully support herself or himself and is awarded permanent maintenance until she/he remarries, or dies or the ex-spouse dies.

In terms of the bills, payment responsibility depends on the facts. What kind of bills are you talking about? Did the other party agree to be liable? Is he a co-debtor or a co-signer? Even if he is not liable to the creditor the other party could be liable to you if you can show the two of you agreed to be jointly responsible.
