supervised visits

if the father has supervised visits, can he still go to school functions, like basketball games or dance recitals and watch his kids?

Whether a parent with supervised visitation can attend public functions depends on the terms of the court order. In general, the answer is yes, he can attend such functions. However, this may depend on the reason his visits are supervised. If his visits are supervised because of inappropriate conduct with the children, even his attendance at public functions may be inappropriate, although more facts are required to evaluate the issue. If the order does not address this circumstance, but should, a motion would be required to modify the terms of the parenting time order.
