Re: visitation rights

Under Minnesota's laws, if the parents of the child are divorced or legally separated, or if there was a paternity determination by a court, the grandparents may be able to seek their own rights to visitation with the grandchild. That may occur by intervening in an existing divorce action or by commencing their own action. Ultimately, a court determines what grandparenting time is allowable based on what is in the best interests of the child.

Re: visitation rights

The best way to deal with this is to have your son pursue visitation. He has a right to visitation. Once he can obtain visitation you should be able to see your grandchildren during those scheduled visitation times assuming your son is cooperative.
