vistation rights

my ex had our child in minn. i live in vt. she wants me to pay large support, but only 6 hours a year vistation, me going to minn, stay at hotel, and her bringing oour child to visit for an hour or 2 for the weekend but this is only every 6 monthes, plus never bring baby to vt. our baby is 1 week old. is this legal? i hope not! thank you

You should be able to arrange more time with your child in your state depending on the type of relationship you had with the child prior to the mother removing the child and coming to Minnesota. Also, you may be able to modify your support obligation to account for the costs of visitation. I need much more information than what you have provided. I need to see the current court papers, if any, and also know what you are earning so I can determine what your support might be under Minnesota Law.
