Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

worried about ex-wife

i was able to get custody of our eight year old son last year in another state. my ex-wife was a drug abuser and she was a danger to live with. just a few moths ago i got a cost of living adjustment of only 4% and i am not really able to pay my bills. i asked the child support office to do an adjustment of her income to get a possible increase in child support. when she got this she flew off the handle and said if they raise her child support she will go after me. what can i do? can i term her parental rights? if i do that will i still get child support? what will happen to her? thank you for any info

Re: worried about ex-wife

Have her child support reviewed. SShe is unlikely to be able to do anything regarding custody since she must demonstrate that teh child is endangered in his/her current environment and the benefit of the change out weighs the harm.

It is unlikely that you could terminate parental rights and if you did, child support would end.
