Chemical Dependency
A friend is in need of detox and chemical dependency treatment/counseling but hasn't been at her job for 12 months to qualify for FMLA. Are there any laws/programs in MN to protect her job while she's away from her employment during treatment?

None found.
Her best bet may be to ask her job for a sabbatical, without explaining why, but at less than a year, it's not looking good.
Contact your local chemical dependency agency and ask there,--they'll have te most up to date information in your area. There may be programs she can attend that don't force her to make that choice.
