Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota
Can I collect my car back without going to court?
I bought a car from my dad, I was to make monthly payments, I had not made any payments after 5 months but he was very understanding of my situation. We discussed it and it was ok. I had my sister put car in her name cuz she had insurance. I let her husband drive it to work. When dad found out, he went to workplace and took it. Says he resold it. Does he have this right? He never asked me for a payment, gave me no warning, more or less stole car. Plus I put new tire and battery that he will not give to me. Can I retrieve car on my own or do I need a cop, or court order? Help me please!

Without a Security Agreement-he had no right to Repo the car. However-your Sister is the party in interest not you.
What was owing on car? What amount was it sold for?
