Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota

my dog

I have a dog angel that my ex was soposed to be in taking care of in crookston MN. I wanted to get her back but when i asked he had some women taking care of angel without asking me, and know she said she has had her way to long, she said for two years, and wont give angel back. I have her registeration papers showing that i owne angel. I really want angel back, for my son and i. Can you help? I dont know what to do.

If your dog is not returned to you, and you have proof of ownership, you can file a claim for "replevin". This is basically a claim that asks the court to order the other person to return your dog. You will have to file the claim in the county where the other party lives.
