GC status

hi, how can i find out what my Green card status is? i was living with my husband when he applied, and after few days we broke up and started living seperately. Now i want to know if he had withdrew the application of GC he filed for me or not, and if he has not then what is my current status. i lived in US on H4. visa now we live in another india.

Firstly, if you have moved back to India and lived there for a year or more, your permanent resident status has been abandoned (if you ever had it).

If you do not have any paperwork regarding your potential green card, it will be very difficult to determine the status of your case. We could try a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, but this can take a year or more to receive the information.

If you or your husband had an attorney assisting you with your green card, we could contact that attorney and get the information.
