Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota

My husband came into this country with his cousins who did not know his exact birth date, and they gave him an arbitrary birth date because he was a minor. After his family arrived in this country he learned of his actual birth date. But he obtained his citizenship without changing. Now he wants to change, he went to a judge who granted him the motion. But he wants to change the citizenship certificate, what does he need to do? He waited for 6 years and now he wants to change it to the actual date. Does this raise a red flag or is this ok? it is a four year difference.

Thank you

With the proper proof, he can get an amended Certificate of Citizenship (or Naturalization Certificate). My own grandmother's birthday was made up - July 4, 1900! The immigration service knows that aliens sometimes can't prove their births. As long as the change in birth date doesn't relate to any substantive aspect of qualification for status to begin with, changing the date shouldn't open up a can of worms. l'd be happy to help you out if you contact me offline.
