Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota

Married to an illegal

My husband and I have been married for over 2 and a half years. With him unable to work due to his status I have been the only income in the family. In the last 2 and a half years I have managed to save 400 dollars towards hiring a lawyer. Is there any way I can do it on my own? The cheapest lawyer wants 6000.00 dollars. If I could only save 400 in 2 and a half years it will take 15 years for me to save 6000 dollars. Is there another way? I work 2 jobs and am a full time college student. It is breaking our marriage apart and I love my husband dearly. I don't know what to do anymore. Please someone help.

How did your husband enter the country? The process involved is going to depend on whether he entered legally with a visa or illegally through the border.

My standard legal fee is $950 for green card applications through marriage to a US citizen, but only if it does not involve a waiver (i.e. he entered legally with a visa and overstayed).

I am located in Bloomington, Minnesota, and we can offer a payment plan. If you were quoted $6,000, then I suspect you have a complicated case. In the legal profession, you often get what you pay for (in most cases). A $500 attorney that ends up getting your husband deported is not worth a dime. If you wish to speak with me, you may send me an email.
