Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota

I was wondering if my boyfriend that was assaulted by this other guy and he does have a domestic assault police report, would he be able to qualify for a U visa?

Unfortunately not. Simple assault is not one of the crimes covered by the U-visa. If there was sexual assault, then he has a case.
