Legal Question in Insurance Law in Minnesota

UPS lost my package, will only pay 1/6 what it is worth.

Recently I moved for Texas back to Minnesota. I was driving, and everything didn't fit so I mailed some things home. I applied online, and then I brought my packages to a UPS driver. I had 3 packages, 2 of them made it home. One of them was scanned in at Cache, Illinios, but was never scanned out. UPS can not find my package. However, since I didn't purchase additional insurance, they are saying they will only give me $100. The package was at the very least worth $660. How can they not be liable? What can I do?

You can sue in small claims if you can prove you took the package to UPS.

Also make a claim under your homeowner's or renter's policy which should cover up to $1000 or more of your personal property. This is a collateral source and is yours separate and apart from your suit against UPS.
