Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

Copyright Infringment

If I filmed myself playing the guitar, and the song I was playing during the filming had a registered copyright; then later sold $2500 dollars worth of copied video's of myself playing that song, would that be a performance infringment?

If I only filmed certain segments of the song, how much of the song could I get by with, without being in violation of copyright infringment?

Re: Copyright Infringment

Playing the guitar and selling the recording is a no-no without paying the royalty.

You are infringing on a copyrighted work.
