Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

Copyright law and the internet

I have an internet retail business. I am considering selling a variety of games on my site. I would receive the games from one of the manufacturer's distributors. The game boxes indicate the manufacturer holds a copyright. My questions are as follows:

On my site I would like to post an image of the game box along with a description. I would like to copy the image from the manufacturer's website, or from other sites that sell the same item. Would doing so constitute a copyright violation?

Would we have implicit permission to use the images in light of the fact that we are selling the manufacturer's own games?

If the manufacturer's site doesn't have an adequate image of the item, and I wish to copy the image from someone else's site, do I need to seek permission to do so from both the manufacturer and the owner of the other site?

Thank you.

Re: Copyright law and the internet

Use as you describe is arguably "fair use" but since you are in the chain of distribution, and consent would be riduculously easy to obtain, I would do so.
