Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

Personal photo published without permission

A few years ago my I had my wedding in Costa Rica. Along with the professional photographer, a friend also took some pictures of my husband and I after the ceremony. I sent a few of our friend's photos to the Villa where our group stayed so they could put them up on their website. The best man in our wedding was recently on a flight and discovered one of those photos being used to advertise the Villa in the in-flight magazine. The Villa never notified us of the use of our photograph and they certainly did not get our permission to put it in an international publication. I am wondering what action can/should--name removed--taken. Any advise would--name removed--appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Personal photo published without permission

You should have an Attorney send a Cease + Desist letter, aong with claim for damages/restitution.

It is a violation of privacy + conversion for commercial gain.
