Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

Posting HTML Links And/Or Other Public Documents

What are the legal constraints as regards posting someone elses ''public'' content on my own web site? I would acknowledge the other site as the source but would copy the document and post it on my own site?

What are the legal constraints as regards simply posting links to someone elses ''public'' content on my own web site?
