Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota
I have 2 questions. I am not looking to sue but, I do want to protect myself as best that I can. I suspect age discrimination and other misuse of power by management.
1. How do I file a grievance report with my employer for age discrimination? I have asked HR but, they said that they do not know? (Our company has been recently bought by another).
2. My supervisor wants me to sign a paper in which they have made it sound like that I talk to much and have an attitude. How should I respond?
I recorded my meeting with my supervisor and a witness regarding the paper. In the meeting (and on the recording), my supervisor acknowledges that I do not get up frequently and disrupts business by talking with others. He also stated that the comment he found rude was me stating that I was exercising my rights under the National Labor Relations act. I was discussing work conditions with a coworker without disrupting business.

1. No one here can tell you how to file an internal grievance report: Ask your employer.
2. I suggest you pay an experienced attorney to discuss matters with you, review the doc' your employer wants you to sign, and she can provide you with detailed formal legal advice tailored to the full facts.
