Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota
Earned Paid Vacation Reimbursement upon Resignation
I worked in Hennepin County, Minnesota for a company for the past 4+ years and recently resigned. As part of my employment contract I earned two weeks (10 days) paid vacation per year which was awarded/given to me each year on my anniversary with the company. I currently have not used 7 of the 10 days I had earned previously this year. Does my company have to reimburse me for those days, or do I forfeit them because I resigned? There is nothing in the company handbook or my employment offer mentioning forfieting unused days upon resignation.
Thanks,

Re: Earned Paid Vacation Reimbursement upon Resignation
You should be paid for the unused vacation if you would have been able to take them immediately before resignation.
