Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Former Employer

I have a non/compete-non/disclosure I need clarification on a paragraph. It reads as follows: The term ''non compete'' as used herein shall mean that the Employee shall not own, manage, operate, consult or be employed in a business substantially similar or competitive with, the present business of the Company or such other business activity which the Company may substantially engage during the term of employment. Does this mean the agreement is only applicable to the Company or new job offer?

Re: Former Employer

I would want to review the entire agreement to advise, but no, the language customarily bars competition with the company, and is NOT referring only to employment with the company.

I have extensive experience enforcing (and challenging ) non-compete agreements. Call or email for assistance.
