Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota
employment law/ Minnesota
My husband and I own a resturant. Can our 16 year old son wait on tables? He is on our payroll already as a cook. I believe in Minnesota you need to be 18years old to wait on tables if you serve beer & wine, but does the law apply to the owners and their children?

Minnesota Statutes Section 340A.412 states:
Subd. 10. Employment of minors. No person under 18 years of age may serve or sell
intoxicating liquor in a retail intoxicating liquor establishment.
There is no exception for relatives of owners.
