Fired for no reason

I was recently fired from my job because ''it just isn't working out''. I have been working for this company for 7 months, so the 90 probation period was over. I was never given a verbal warning that anything was wrong, and received a written warning 3 days prior that was for a specific situation. On the written warning, it said that if this happened again, i could be terminated. In the next 3 days, nothing happened, and my write-up was not even mentioned when i was let go. I would like to pursue a wrongful termination suit against this employer, and would like to know if I even have a chance?

Minnesota is an at will state, meaning generally you can be fired for no reason. However, there are a lot of exceptions to this. If you were fired due to your race, gender, or disability, that would be illegal. Also, if your handbook provides a procedure the employer is supposed to follow and it did not do so, you may have a contract lawsuit. You should request in writing a copy of your personnel file and the reason for your termination. You can call me or my partner Sue Chambers to discuss this.
