Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Legal recourse for unfair termination

What rights do I have legally after being terminated unfairly after 27 years of service? I was called into the bosses office on a Saturday with 2 minimal complaints (verbal warnings only). I had two days off, and when I went to work on Tuesday he called me to the office again, and cited a complaint that supposedly took place months ago, but I was never informed at that time. I cant help but wonder if in fact the unfair termination was due more to the benefits and pension I would have recieved in 6 years time. I have been a good and reliable employee for those 27 years! I had four weeks of vacation that was due to be paid just two weeks following the termination.

Re: Legal recourse for unfair termination

Are you in union? Do you have an employment contract (handbook or manual)?

Did you you request (in writing) basis for termination?
