Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Non Compete Agreement

I have a non compete agreement where I currently work. I was hired to be a part-time contracted employee for a customer of my company (it is now turning into full-time). I have been at the same customer as a contracted employee for over 5 years. I would like to accept a full-time position at with the company I am contracted with, but it states in my non compete agreement that I cannot accept any employment opportunities with any customers/clients that my company has. Is this legal? The company I am contracted to would like to hire me as a full time employee, but I want to check on this before I go any further. Also, I do know of other employees who were allowed to accept employment opportunities from customers in the past.

Re: Non Compete Agreement

I would need to review the agreement and interview you re: limitations on the agreement and its execution.

This is a highly technical area of law and I have represented both employers and employees in battles involving non-competes.

Call or e-mail for further assistance.
