Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota
I served in Iraq and returned qualifying for Unemployment in Minnesota. I looked for work and times were poor; so I had to settle for a part time night job. I served as a hostess in a night club that worked til 3 am. I was paid minimum wage, which was far under my prior hourly wage in the military. I got so few hours it was not worth the position so I let them know I was looking elsewhere for better hours and wages. I continued to receive unemployment, but now Unemployment is asking for $15,000 back. I will have to appeal? but how do I need to present my case to win this?

I do not understand. If you received unemploymentg benefits, you must be unemployed. If you are workingl your do not qualify. If you were working, the unemployment benefits expended can be recouped. Moreover, a failure to report the employment can often result in criminal charges.
