Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota
Can I sue my employer for the following. We had recent layoffs and were told there would be demotions but no pay cuts. I was the only one in the company that was demoted and received a pay cut.

To respond properly to your question I need further information. Do you have a written employment agreement with the employer? Do you belong to a union? Do you have concerns that you were singled out for any inappropriate or illegal discriminatory reason or reasons? Are there further details to your situation that indicate that your employer is seemingly 'forcing' you to quit? I recommend that you privately discuss all details with an attorney knowledgeable in employment law and discrimination issues. In selecting an attorney to help you, I recommend that you make several phone calls because it is so important that you feel a sense of great safety and trust with the attorney you choose to help you.
