Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Telephone Recording

A converstion between my supervisor and I on the telephone, was recorded by the supervisor without disclosing that to me. I was called in to listen to it and then repremanded. This was a warning to me that if it occured again, I would be terminated. Is this legal? Can they do this without me being told the conversation is being recorded. Does this have to be kept confidential among my supervisor and HR? Or is it ok for all the supervisor's to know?

Re: Telephone Recording

Yes, it is legal. I would have to review your employee manual for privacy and confidentiality of employer phone conversations.

What was the content? Are you in a union or have a written agreement for employment?
