Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Uncashed payroll checks

I have an employee who lost his check 5 1/2 years ago. He just brought it to my attention now. We do have on our payroll checks that all checks are void after 6 months. I need to know if it is legal not to pay him. This check has been voided and added back into our payroll account.
