Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Unemployment compensation

My employer has told me to find another job and I am in fact being terminated. His reason is that I don't fit into the changing course of this department. However, he refused to give me a deadline and said I can work here until I find another job. My problem is that this is distressing and he has posted the job opening in the building, which means potential new employees are now calling about my job. I don't want to be here now that I have been given my walking papers. But if I leave, he can say I still had a job and I am concerned about not qualifying for unemployment. What are my options, if any? Thank you very much for your help.
