Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

If you work for a company for a few years, take a promotion and decide to step down, the owner of the company get mad at you and makes you reaply (fill out another aplication) for the position you preveously had starts you at base pay on a probationary period. Does that void any contract you preveously had with them?
