Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
Abandoning mobile home
I and my new husband each own a mobile home in a mobile home park. We are wondering what can happen to us if we just walk out and leave them. They are both paid for. We'd like to live together now that we are married but do not have the money to have them destroyed. Also I have a pregnant daughter that needs to be out before she delivers as the home is not a good place for a new born.

You have a written agreement with park owners?
That controls. You may be on the hook for moving and/or storage. Why don't you sell or rent them?
Re: Abandoning mobile home
You can certainly "walk away" -- the likely problem is that you will create a debt for unpaid lot rent, etc., which will likely follow you. I had a friend who donated her mobile home to the Salvation Army, who was able to find someone to use it. You could try an in-park sale. There are rules about that under Minnesota Statutes. Sometimes the park manager will buy the home from you for, say, $2000 and re-sell it to someone else for $5000.
