Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
Eviction notice
My brother was just given an eviction notice after about 15 years at his apt, and has to be out by 3-31-08. He is a month to month renter. He has been unemployed for over 1 year but has paid his rent. He was just diognosed with a heart condition. His landlord did not seem to have a problem until he mentioned his recent medical condition. What rights does my brother have? Can he be evicted without any reason? Will this hurt his chances of finding another place to rent?

Re: Eviction notice
I would need to see his lease, if any. Even though a month to month renter, after such a long period there should be a sound basis for eviction. Have him call or email.
I have been a LL 28 years.
