Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
My home
There is a mortgage on my house (not in my name). The man with the mortgage is telling me I need to get out (I have paid every month on time for 2.5 years), and the man at the bank who deals with the man with the mortgage told me to pay the bank the March payment, because the man with the mortgage did not give them a payment in Feb. The man at the bank said the bank has legal right to payment. The bank says they are going to have to foreclose on the properties the man has, which includes my home. The man at the bank says that once they foreclose on the house then they would offer to sell it to me. I guess what I need to know is do I have the right to continue to live in the house and pay the bank the payments or should I be looking at moving because the man with the mortgage wants me out because I have not been able to get a mortgage myself yet because I do not have a credit score. Everything else was good when I applied for a mortgage. I am working on getting a credit score built up. I have a credit card now, but I have only made one payment so far.

Re: My home
First of all: Who is "the man"? Your husband, your partner (romantic or otherwise)?
Do you have any written agreement re: your obligations for rent, house payment etc.?
You should NOT get your legal advice from the man at the bank, they just want your money.
Call or email for assistance.
You may have rights to assert.
