Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota
My landlord and I lived together and we had no written lease. I've lived there since the middle of September and have proof of paying rent. She recently tried to evict me with no formal eviction notice and with only a 12 hour notice. She still has not given a formal eviction notice, and she was told by a police officer today that she can change the locks and move my stuff out to the porch because I never got mail there so I was not considered a resident and I did not need a notice at all. What do I do now? I know the MN laws still require a 30 day notice and a formal notice of eviction even with no written lease. But now an officer told her otherwise.

"Law" Officer doesn't mean they're qualified to give legal advice!
You are correct and the Cop should stick to police work.
Without a formal UD ( eviction action in court), the lockout is a CRIME.
