Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

We live in an apt that was advertised as "pet friendly" but were told after we signed the lease that we are not allowed to use the front door to bring in our 20 lbs Boston Terrier unless caged. We can only use the side door. The LL has said that it is not a written policy but she rather have us use the side door since she doesn't like dogs. We contacted the management company and they said the LL said the dog was aggressive and they do not want pets to enter through the front bc of liability issues. (Our dog is not aggressive. Any vet will tell you that she is not.) Our neighbors also have been told to take their dogs through the side door as well. Is this not a form of discrimination if it is not a written policy by the management? What rights do pet owners have when it comes to situations like this one? The management also wrote back "dog owners are not a protected class as far as discrimination is concerned and its a privilege to allow the dog on the premises." Is it really a privilege if we have to pay a pet deposit and pet rent? What are my rights as a pet owner?

You have few remedies since you are not precluded from owning the pet, but only from using a particular entrance.
