Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

I managed a radio station for nearly 18 years. The previous owner allowed us to place our mobile home on the same property, also signing an agreement with our county that I could build a large addition, shed and add decks. He stated we could live there as long as we like. New owners took over in 2005. They agreed also we could stay living there, paying $150.00 monthly for lot rent. In August of 2010, I had medical issues, which prompted me to retire. A doctor signed a note also, taking me out of work until further notice. As soon as I sent in my retirement notice, the corporation that owns the land we live on sent us a notice, via their attorney, that we must vacate the property, removing the mobile home and all addition no later than July 31, 2011. This has caused much stress to myself and my family, especially having medical problems. Their action is totally unjustifyable in our estimation, and we'd like to sue them for this. Please advise.

I would need to review the Writteng agreement with the prior owner and the current owner concerning your right to improve the property and have continuing rental of the property.

Also I would need to review the written notice from the current owner's attorney.

I would not charge to review the above, but would only charge if you retain me to take any action, including communication with the attorney for the current owner of the property.

Are you current on your $150/month rental obligation?
